Hi everyone! My name is Stacey, and this fall, I received my Canadian green card, left my corporate job, and officially moved from Texas to Toronto.
A little bit of backstory: after spending years of my life in school and studying to become a CPA, I finally landed my first "big girl" job in public accounting and achieved the status of "somewhat successful child" in the eyes of my Asian parents.
However, since then, I’ve been having a mini life crisis about my career, and although I’m incredibly grateful for all the opportunities it’s given me, there’s always been that little voice saying maybe it’s okay to change my mind and want something different for my life.
Enter Vinty, a second-hand luxury vintage handbag business I started to satiate that voice.
My love for designer bags comes from my mom. She’s only ever had a small collection, but each piece is so insanely special to her.
And my passion for second-hand comes from the belief that "used" doesn’t mean "less"—it means beautiful. These bags not only tell stories and help sustain our planet [1][2][3], but they also hold their value and deserve second (or even third) lives. I truly believe everyone should have the chance to own unique, high-quality pieces without spending a fortune.
I will be posting daily vlogs sharing the ups and downs of sourcing bags, figuring out the marketing, and just overall all the messiness of being a first-time business owner.
So, if you’re into thrifty deals, luxury vintage handbags, or small business dreams, I’d love it if you followed me on my journey as I spend the last months of my 20s trying to grow this business.
